@therock: As you know, the character of MAUI was inspired by my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia and every word, every action, even every song lyric, I perform with his spirit under my skin. My grandpa (as you’ll see when you scroll) was larger than life, wildly charismatic, tough as nails with the most gentle soul and loved by everyone. As a little boy, he was always my demigod. The records MOANA 2 is breaking - while incredible - goes even deeper than these crazy box office results. It’s family, culture, pride, warrior spirit, aloha spirit and love.
