Hope For Zimbabwe Children (HFZC) first follow-up visit to physically challenged 14 year old Decent Dhongeni - Donated us$20 for food. 23 October 2024 *Purpose* On 23 October 2024, Hope For Zimbabwe Children volunteers, Mr Thulani Moyo, Mr Patrick Chinake, Mr Adonai Steven and Mr Blessing Sibanda visited physically challenged 14 year old Decent Dhongeni and his 54 year old grandmother , Ms Hagai Maphosa at the family house in Checheche to handover us$20, donated by Hope For Zimbabwe Children founder Ma'am Violet Makunike towards food assistance. This was the first follow-up visit after the initial assessment visit on 22 October 2024, where HFZC assessed Decent's social needs. After receiving consent from Ms Maphosa and Decent to record videos and take photos for the charity appeal, Mr Patrick Chinake handed over the donated us$20 to Decent and his grandmother. On 22 October 2024, during the initial assessment, Ms Maphosa and Decent highlighted to the HFZC team that they are struggling to have food on the table. The family of twelve (12) , five adults, and seven children under the age of seventeen live in a five roomed house. Decent's parents live in South Africa and are not gainfully employed. This leaves Ms Maphosa to singlehandedly fend for the family with no other support. Due to drought , Ms Maphosa can hardly raise enough food for the family. Hence, her appeal for foodstuffs assistance. On 23 October 2024 Ma'am Violet Makunike responded to her plea by donating us$20 towards the Dhongeni family food assistance.Ms Maphosa thanked Ma'am Violet Makunike and Hope For Zimbabwe Children for coming to her rescue in time of need. Decent also thanked Ma'am Violet and Hope For Zimbabwe Children for the donation. He said such donations should not end with his family but should be extended to other vulnerable families. *Assistance needed* Ms Maphosa appealed for a wheelchair donation for Decent. The seat of his current wheelchair is wornout, and is no longer comfortable to use. The wheels are not balanced, and it is difficult to push in sandy areas of Checheche. This difficulty was also observed by the HFZC team on 22 October 2024 when they pushed him on his wheelchair. Decent is going into grade seven in 2025. He appealed for assistance with school fees which is us$20 per term, school uniforms us$12, and school stationery us$10. Hope for Zimbabwe Children is kindly asking for your assistance to enable us to help Decent with a new wheelchair and his education needs. Your generosity in cash or kind will be greatly appreciated.Thank you for your kindness. #HopeForZimbabweChildren#decentdhongeni#checheche#childrenhealth #motivationalvideo #helpforchildren #borndifferent #donations #fundraising #tiktokzimbabwe #amazingchild #tiktokafrica #uktiktok
