Sometimes with the understaffed thing, it’s simply bc the two people that do the schedule, don’t schedule enough people and most managers need a floor plan for their shift so if there’s no floor plan-

I don’t know about McDonald’s but at Wegmans a big grocery store. It was short staffed because they wouldn’t give anybody benefits and so nobody stayed long always hiring never fully staffed.

Because the company doesn’t give management enough hours, that when the schedule is posted, there like people with 4-10 hours a week and they try to “make it work”

I ran a pizza place. would call ppl in for an interview, most wouldn't even show up. the ones that got hired, did the paperwork didn't show up on start date. alot did it bc of unemployment requirement

Both, as a manager at McDonald’s there is a high turnover rate because of bad management, lazy coworkers, and a toxic work environment. Also a lot of people think McDonald’s doesn’t require work
