The same for hermit crabs, in the wild (which almost all hermit crabs are stolen from the wild) they travel hundreds of miles. I am an advocate for providing the creatures in our care w/ more space.

I thought we left the spider enclosure smaller because they have poor eye sight and get stressed out in bigger environments in fear of being attacked. The small cage keeps them comfortable

so i believe most bugs are more like operating things, not sure if they can feel sad or depressed so due to their size most people will have them in something small so it’s easier to retrieve the spid

Oh no! I just got my first jumping spider. They told me I could get this little deli cup since I’m new, or get a “big enclosure if I wanted to jump right in to the hobby” so I got the big one 4x4x8 😭
