I feel for train conductors. the anxiety when you see a vehicle on the track and know you can't stop as well to wonder if there's a person inside.

these trains are millions of pounds they can't stop on a dime. some even take a mile to stop. it's not the trains responsibility to stop. that's why they have the crossing gates and lights.

I read somewhere conductors are trained to just close their eyes if/when this happens bc the visual of hitting something is the worst part of the traumatic memory. Glad the driver got out on time

I remember being told in drivers ed to IMMEDIATELY get out of the vehicle and call the number on the blue sign. Then move away from the tracks if you haven’t already to call police

My husband used to be a conductor for CSX. A similar situation happened where the train hit an SUV on the track. They can't immediately stop the train because of all that weight they are pulling.

This happened to my husband on the way home from Longview one trip. He put his train in emergency but it still wasn’t enough time to stop the train from plowing through the semi.

Father was an engineer for Conrail have heard many bad stories… guy sitting in middle of track on 5 gallon bucket would not move. Dad was tore up over that one not his fault. Couldn’t stop

Why do they not have a sign at each intersection that states if there is a vehicle stuck on the track call this number, and then it connects to the train conductors cell that is on that rail line.

As a child our car stahled out, everyone got out but me ,The train hit the car,i flew out the back glass,Not a scratch, God did that 😩😭😭🙏🙏

Only one question why wasn’t he blowing his whistle before? He obviously seen it on the track not that he could stop I get that, but if somethings on the track, they usually blow their whistle
