Why I posted Tourette’s and Disability content VS Why I stopped. I use to post my Tourette’s and disability videos to try and help people. I wanted others experiencing the same thing as me to not feel as alone and confused. I wanted to share education content, to educate those who were unaware of the conditions and to show them how to act appropriately and how they can help someone struggling with the same thing. Tourette’s, FND, PoTs and many other conditions are overlooked. There is not enough education surrounding these disabilities. For example, most people think that Tourette’s is just swearing. It is way more complex than that. And so are lots of other conditions. I wanted to show an audience what it was like to live with these conditions, to teach them to be compassionate and kind because you never know what someone is going through and to never give dirty looks to someone who might be acting “strangely” or look “funny”. I just wanted to raise awareness. After I suffered serious ongoing trauma, my mental health began to suffer. I could barely cope with getting out of bed in the morning let alone reading through my comment sections to see all the hate and people telling me i’m faking it and doing it for attention. I myself was going through a tough time trying to process what had happened to me and I could not bear to continue posting educational content, trying to help people, when I was getting backlash for it. Not all the comments were hateful I can assure you and I have a lot of lovely people following me, who support me, it’s always just the unnecessary comments that get to you. Even if its just 1 in 50. It just proves that you never know what is going on in someones life. No matter the context, you should never leave hurtful comments and messages on someone’s post as you never know what they’re going through and you never know how much they’re struggling. Thank you for reading. Just be kind. To everyone. #disability #tourettes #fnd #potssyndrome #hate
