You never really know which friendships will be lifelong or fleeting. Bailee, our Bailee. One of Aubreigh’s best friends. I just know she would have been a lifelong one. Her heart, her love, her compassion—it’s something I’ll treasure forever. I still hear echoes of those late-night giggles, the sound of snacks being devoured, door-dashed goodies arriving, and the joyful chaos of them making TikToks at all hours. They’d stay up way too late, then sleep in like carefree teenagers should. But friendship’s true depth revealed itself in a way I never anticipated. When we lost Aubreigh, I braced myself to lose her friends, too—the girls who had become like second daughters to me. But Bailee never left. In the midst of her own grief, she stayed. She showed up for us, bringing love and light to our darkest days. And she didn’t just stay—she poured herself into us, especially into Ryker. Her love for him is something I’ll never forget. She stepped in and stepped up, not to replace Aubreigh, but to honor her. She eased his ache, filled his emptiness, and showed him that while he lost his sister physically, her love and friendship live on through Bailee. The bond Aubreigh started between Bailee and Ryker continues to grow, even without her here. It’s a testament to the power of love and friendship—the kind that transcends loss, grief, and time. Bailee, you’ve healed parts of us, and I hope we’ve done the same for you. Aubreigh would be so proud of the love you carry, the light you bring, and the compassion you so freely give.
