I just showed up with my old drivers license and it was renewed with what they now call Real ID that has the Gold Star ⭐️. They didn’t ask for anything else.

I had to get my birth certificate. Never had an official one. Never needed it before. I have my license already with my picture on it. Why do they need a birth certificate that doesn't have a picture?
