some people, like those with diverticulitis, can't eat small hard things like peanuts, they fet lodged and cause inflammation. They probably just said allergic to make it easier

If you want a warm center in the steak, the chef has to remove the steak from the fridge a good 30 min before cooking. The middle should be hot

I cooked at a truck stop in my teens and a table of four ordered t-bone steaks medium rare. easy peasy. one sent it back the waitress said he wants it cooked a little more. ok he wants it closer

oh....that's why there are pictures of the temp that's steaks come out as. I never thought about people not realizing a rare steak has a cool center.
