@york.uk: Discover a dickensian Christmas at York Castle Museum 🎄 The snow came and went quickly but there’s still chance to see a dusting on the cobbles as it has settled on Kirkgate for Christmas at York Castle Museum! Step into the past and be surrounded by real Victorian items, nearly everything from the lampposts to the shopfronts and the artefacts they display are genuine objects from the Victorian period or earlier! The shops are each named after a real York shop from the past and present and there’s a functioning sweet shop should you fancy a sweet treat 🍬 There’s even chance to meet Father Christmas himself in his traditional green robes as he appears on the street, on Saturdays and select weekdays leading up to the big day, to talk of feasts, dancing, games and songs bringing joy to everyone! 🎅🏼 And that’s not all, there’ll be Victorian carol singers and appearances from Scrooge.
