@renzi.rakasova: The mako shark (Isurus oxyrinchus), also known as the shortfin mako shark, the mackerel shark, or the sharpnose shark, is a large species of shark, a member of the lamniformes family. It is the fastest shark, capable of swimming at speeds of up to 70 km/h. Although both sexes grow at about the same rate, females are generally larger, more robust, and live longer. The average length of a mako shark is 2–2.9 meters (6.6–9.2 ft), or according to other sources 3.2–3.8 m (10.6–12.2 ft), and the weight can range from 60 to 400 kg (130 to 990 lb). The largest recorded male weighed 454 kg (1,000 lb) and measured 4.02 m (13.6 ft), while the largest recorded female measured 3.96 m (1,500 lb) and weighed 794 kg (1,600 lb). Mako sharks are remarkably agile. They have an elegant body shape with a long, conical snout, and at the same time have a more hydrodynamic body shape than any other shark species. The body shape in combination with aerobic muscle mass, typical of the family of lamniform sharks, allows it to develop high speed and mobility. The caudal fin is crescent-shaped, the second dorsal fin is significantly smaller than the first. In younger sharks, the tips of the pectoral and first dorsal fins are more rounded. The skin of this species is very rough. It is also specific for its sharp teeth protruding from the mouth, which are well adapted to catching especially smaller and faster prey. It does not often seek out larger creatures, including humans, therefore it is not a particularly dangerous species. Characteristic features edit The teeth are visible even when the mouth is closed. The teeth are long and slender with smooth humps. Distinctive shading, blue on the back and white on the belly. Slightly short pectoral fins. 🦈🙏
