40 years ago we also thought cigarettes were good for us and how did that turn out? Almost like science and medicine has improved our knowledge of the human body and what we need?

So fun fact: science is constantly evolving and we are constantly learning, which is why even in the last 40 years we’ve increased life expectancy by several years. They did use to use 300 as the threshold. More advanced studies over decades showed the relationship between dietary and blood cholesterol is complex, leading to the removal of the daily 300mg limit in the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans

There’s good and bad cholesterol, I think you’re meaning you want a high HDL not LDL but everyone is different and requires different levels of cholesterol.

The brain is 60% fat by dry weight, and 25% of the body’s cholesterol is in the brain, especially in the myelin sheaths and neuronal membranes. It’s crucial for:
• Neurotransmitter signaling
• Cell membrane integrity
• Synapse formation
• Repair and regeneration
• Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB):
Cholesterol helps stabilize the BBB, which filters out toxins and prevents chemical invasion. If cholesterol is low or disrupted, the BBB becomes leaky—allowing things like mercury, lead, fluoride, and pesticides to penetrate.
• Heavy Metal Detox Pathway:
Cholesterol indirectly supports detoxification, especially through bile production in the liver (where metals can be excreted). Low cholesterol = poor bile = metals stay stuck.

from bodybuilding, I'm considered "morbidly obese" due to BMI. moved out of state and had a blood panel done. the "Dr" tried ringing panic alarms at my BMI and cholesterol at 200. panels were fine
