🔨 Here’s a quick tutorial on how we DIY’ed the living room wood slats accent wall 🔨 1. First is to prep the area for painting. Wipe down the walls and broom the area to remove excess dust. 2. Then lay out the drop cloth to protect your floors. Take out the outlet covers and cover the outlets with painter’s tape. Pour your paint. Put painters tape around the area that way you won’t end up with messy paint on sections you don’t want. Then get to painting 🎨 3. While waiting for the 2 coats of paint to dry, we went to Home Depot and got 8ft-1x 2 wood slats. They come in bulks (12pcs in a bulk). 4. Sand the wooden slats then stain. We used Special Walnut from Varathane. 5. After staining, now time to attach the slats onto the walls. Line them up individually and nail the slats using the nail gun. We used the same wood slat turned sideways as spacers to have even spacing throughout. Since the wall is greater than 8ft, we had to cut smaller pieces to fit the entire length. Then VIOLA!
