@theladygourmet: How to Make Homemade Beetroot Powder This year, I harvested an abundance of beetroot from my garden, so I decided to make the most of it by preserving it in every way possible. The result? A 100% organic beetroot powder that’s both nutritious and versatile! If you didn’t grow your own beets, no worries—just try to source organic ones for the best quality. Here’s How You Can Make It: 1. Prep the Beetroot • Start by cutting off the tops and bottoms of the beets, peeling them, and grating them finely. • Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread the grated beetroot evenly across it. 2. Dehydrate • Place the tray in the oven at the lowest possible temperature. • Every oven is different, so this part requires attention. I started at 50°C without ventilation, but after 90 minutes, the beets were still moist. I increased the temperature to 75°C with ventilation, and things moved along much faster. • Stir the beetroot occasionally with a spoon (or better yet, use your hands to check the texture). The key is to ensure even drying. They’re ready when they feel like crispy chips—completely dehydrated with no trace of moisture. 3. Grind and Store • Once fully dried, grind the beetroot in a coffee grinder until it turns into a fine powder. • Sift the powder to remove any larger pieces that might remain. • Store it in a glass jar, and you’re all set! How to Use It: Add a spoonful to your yogurt, smoothies, baked goods, or even use it as a natural food coloring. It’s packed with nutrients, great for your blood, and 100% natural—what could be better? Stay healthy, stay gourmet!
