They shouldn’t have cause she has a home, it could’ve been a mix up or they had a lot of strays that day and they just clipped them all to be sure??

If you went through a shelter or humane society, they normally have the vet notch the ears in case it ever gets loose so they can tell if its already spayed or not

mine got the belly tattoo instead. i guess depending on where you get it done will be if its the ear snip or tattoo

Is she an indoor/outdoor cat? Most places will do that if they’re ever outdoors as it’s a sign that they’re fixed. Unfortunately I know of a lot of farmers who will ☠️stray cats on sight if they dont

If you used a low cost clinic, some ear tip any cat that comes through the program. It is meant to be a deterrent to owners bringing in owner cats claiming they are strays 1/

If you go to a normal vet they won’t do this. If you go to a low cost clinic or human society - it’s is routine to make sure they’re noted that they’re spayed. Also spaying is a Ovo hysterectomy.

I just got a stay cat fixed that we kinda adopted. I paid full price to get him fixed, didn’t get the stray cat voucher but I mentioned he had been a stray. Thank God they called me and asked 1/2

my cat was fixed for free through a shelter program and they ask if we want the ear tipped or if it's an inside kitty. no reason to do this to an inside cat
