this is so true. then the bad students come to me like "can you help me" no, no I cant. do the assigned reading. show up. do the hard work like I am‼️

It’s true even in middle school. The middle schooler who wants to learn can’t because of the constant disruption from the kids who can’t or won’t be quiet, and the teacher can’t just teach 😢

U have a point but now a days the entire course is online on canvas 9/10 times so why would kids show up when they can figure it out on their own time in an arguably more efficient way

I tell my kids I don’t grade attendance. Then anytime more that 10% are absent we have a mandatory “are the lights on or off” quiz that cannot be made up without it being an approved absence.
