What I think people don't necessarily get is even countries that hate Canada would step up against the US. Russia and China for example (The entirety of BRICS more like) hate the US more than us. 1

The US and Canada are super similar and I doubt NATO would truly divest from the US if they annexed Canada, but still that’d be an insane and nonsensical move for the US to make.
