My dog has IVDD I couldn’t afford surgery he went completely paralyzed but he was able to recover to walk again and we take good care of him no jumping on/off beds/couches and he has meds in case he’s in pain or if his nerves are inflamed.

I cried so much when my dog woke up one morning dragging his back legs. The vet said if I would've waited to take him in his chances to recover were zero.

the rage I feel because it's already bad enough they don't live long enough, but when they end up suffering from literally anything I instantly just want to raise hell for them because none of them deserve anything bad of any kind 😩

Our 4yo cavapoo is going through the same thing. She was paralysed 5 weeks ago. The vet didn’t recommend surgery as she was grade 3. She’s not out of the woods yet but she’s now able to walk (just).

My baby was just diagnosed with it two days ago. So far the meds she’s on is helping significantly. I hope that’s all she will need because she’s 11 years old surgery will probably not be an option for us

This happened to my frenchie! Please take them as soon as you see them shaking! Luckily we caught it early. She was in recovery for about a week & took pain meds. She’s good now

I’m so happy your dog is doing well. We were not able to save our Bichon from IVDD. He became paralyzed to the point he just stopped breathing. It was less than 7 days from symptom onset

Omg my chihuahua went thru this 5 years ago 😭 He was full on paralyzed. He had surgery & is doing well! Buuut spinal surgery was probably the most expensive life lesson on not having pet insurance 😂

My dog had all the same symptoms but turned out he had cancer and had spread to his lungs after taking X-ray. I was told he only has 2- 6 months 😔

Same happened to my dog. Vets kept brushing it off and saying she was constipated but it didn’t make sense so i kept taking her to different places until they took me seriously enough to do an xray

Always with small dogs especially ones that are long in length do not let them jump from high places (beds) couches) things we wouldn’t think aren’t high are detrimental to them

my dog just had surgery and he didn’t have any symptoms prior to a few days ago when he abruptly became paralyzed but he’s recovering now thank god for pet insurance 🥺
