This 1 month old baby came 10 days ago for the first time having important vomiting. Check my previous video on my profile. Her palate was very low and her first vertebra was off alignement. The shape of the palate defines the suction tunnel and the strength of the vacuum effect inside it. The position of the first vertebra will have an impact on the Vagus and Glossopharyngal nerves emerging from the base of the skull on its sides. These nerves control the latching/gagging reflex as well as the stomach motricity. An imbalance of the palate or/and the first vertebra will affect the latching reflex and trigger an early gagging reflex as well as facilitate vomiting. The body is a very precise biological machine controlled by an electrical system (nervous system) which can see its balance disrupted by a traumatic birth such as: Vacuum/forceps, long/short birth, pressures on the stomach, stopping the baby from coming out, emergency/planned c-section, lying down legs up, baby kept inside the womb long hours after the water broke, etc… Osteopathy possesses extremely efficient tools to correct your baby’s balance and give him the best ground for a healthy growth.
