Save this if you’re a postpartum mum 🤍 After 20 years of teaching Pilates, this is how I help postpartum mums reconnect with their deep core. This is one of my favourite exercises for gently switching on the deep core (TA), your body’s natural internal corset. It’s a simple but incredibly effective way to reconnect with the muscles that support your spine, pelvis and abdominal wall. Push the ball firmly into your knee while your knee pushes back with equal pressure. This creates a closed chain through the trunk, encouraging all four layers of the abdominal wall to work together. Keeping your pelvis in a neutral position helps the deep core stabilise while you slowly lift and lower the opposite leg. ✨ Ball Press x12 each side 🔥 Complete 4 rounds If your neck becomes tired, simply place one hand behind your head for extra support while maintaining the pressure through the ball. This is a wonderful exercise for rebuilding deep core strength after pregnancy, but it’s equally beneficial for anyone wanting a stronger core, better posture and improved pelvic stability. If you’ve recently had a baby, always check with your healthcare professional before returning to exercise. Move slowly, breathe naturally and focus on quality over quantity. The goal is to feel the deep core working, not to rush through the movement. Save this workout and come back to it whenever you want a stronger deep core, a flatter stomach and a tighter waist. Follow for Pilates that actually works. 🤍 #pilates #matpilates #postpartum #deepcore #pelvicfloor
