Looks like the wrong tie rod. The hole for the cotter pin should be in one of holes of the castle nut.

That's an cast aluminum knuckle. should be inspected for damage. may cause tie rod to break if is tightened at an angle. potentially dangerous.

something's definitely off that Carter key hole should fall between the matches in the nut. either that or add a washer or two that nut's just going to loosen back up
