@deadrunwoodworks: Prepping wood by hand can be a pain. Even with a well tuned plane with a sharp iron you can have problems. Woodgrain changes direction, you get tear out, or chatter. It’s worth it when it works, you cant get a finish this crisp and smooth with sandpaper. Seriously nothing more orgasmic then taking that perfect pass with a hand plane! Love all my big equipment but hand tools are still the most enjoyable even with the frustration
