@type2diabetescoachmegan: 5 ways to eat oatmeal without spiking your blood sugar 👇🏼 (Episode 1 of 4) “Why do I keep seeing that oatmeal is not good for me?” is a question I get from my followers often. A food can be “”healthy”” and still spike blood sugar - let’s talk about the difference! Food can be confusing if you have Type 2 or Prediabetes, and it isn’t just because you have a condition. It’s because DIET CULTURE is wreaking havoc all over the internet and making it really confusing. So let’s simplify this. Oatmeal is a wholesome food that contains fiber, vitamins and minerals, and good carbohydrates that the body needs. So it is a HEALTHY food! It’s good for gut health, brain health, and cholesterol levels and heart health. But since it has a moderate amount of fiber and really no protein or fat, it can spike your blood sugar. That doesn’t mean it’s UNhealthy, it just means that as a part of a diabetes diet, you need to add a protein food to prevent blood sugar spikes so that you can still get all the benefits out of this wholesome food. Ways to add protein: ✅ Mix in peanut butter ✅ Mix in yogurt ✅ Have eggs on the side ✅ Add nuts and seeds ✅ Add protein powder SHARE this video and COMMENT with a food that you have a question on. I will look at these comments and create videos this week about them to share whether they are appropriate for you as someone with diabetes, and how you can enjoy that food without spiking blood sugar. #diabetes #type2diabetes #t2diabetes #prediabetes #type2diabetic #reversetype2diabetes #diabetescoach #diabetesrecipes #type2diabetesreversal #diabetesremission #diabetesdiet #typetwodiabetic #prediabetesdiet #diabetesdietitian #diabetesreversal

I add a lot of mix-ins and find that my BS still spikes. I add:blueberries, cinnamon, yogurt, bloomed chia seeds, almonds, sometimes peanut butter. I have more add-ins than actual oatmeal in the end.

BANANAS: I’ve read that bananas are actually a berry. True? If so, does this make them healthy and ok to eat for T2’s?
