I say The mockingjay and this one are both for mature readers only. The other 2 teens with open communication

I seriously think this was written for the adults that were young adults when the first trilogy came out not for the current young adults

I completely agree! Another book that isn't YA is Flowers in the Attic. Read that book way to young

Welcome to the Weavers :
I didn’t read the hunger games series until my senior year of high school. I haven’t read that one yet. But I very much agree with you.

This book actually disturbed me, especially the rabies, what happened to Clementia and What happens to Sijanus 😟 but for some reason the original trilogy never bothered me

So make the rules you feel fitting for your family. Thank you for saying that you think it should be like that, but let other people make their own decisions based on what they feel comfortable with.

This is one of the best books I have ever read, but not for the younger crowd.

This is an important dystopian book that should be read in schools with discussions lead by the teacher. This isn't haunting adaline with predatory romanticized relationships, it's deeper than that

Unpopular opinion, hated the book and the movie. There was no one to really root for. Lucy Gray was an extremely unlikable character.

12 years old is not a young adult, it's still a child...

I miss the 80s when movies like Red Dawn were considered appropriate for kids

Why there needs to be federal ratings systems like tv shows or movies. There is no actual rating system, just the federal definition of sexually explicit to go off of.

I think it depends on the kid honestly. 12? Probably not. But for a lot of 15-18 year olds, no biggie. I think we need a label that falls in between children’s & young adult for those 8-14ish kids!

How any of the hunger games is YA is WILD to me. I love the series but I read it as a late elementary student and most of the themes went over my head
