While small towns like Old Fort struggle, I discovered that North Carolina allocated $5M+ for security at an immigrant housing center in Greensboro, with $22M more planned. Meanwhile, we’re told there’s no money to help folks who’ve paid into the system for years. To the bureaucrats and elected officials: Do better. Reallocate those funds to the people of North Carolina who need it to rebuild their schools, homes, and communities. Let’s help our neighbors stay where they belong—in the communities they love.
