You’re overthinking it. They are not perfect but there all I use. I literally bought them for my whole crew and keep lead stocked in trailer. Everyone uses them full time over traditional.

Dude, it’s cause you’re using the small finishing one get the framing pencil. It’s bigger and durable.

Eh like a lot of stuff they have their uses but most often i favor a normal guy pencil, the mechanical turds i do like for marking a story pole or marking out rafter cuts

I totally agree, however I found one with a removable finger grip, it fits perfect in the same place i had my carpenter pencil. I love it. it's on Amazon and it's called THORVALD. I still have the sharpener.

I’m a framer and once I’ve got the pica pencil. I’ve never went back to the wood pencil. I think it’s all about where you place it in your pouch. And I’ve had the original one for over a year now.

I keep both wood pencils and a couple picas in my bag. Both have their uses

I had one, lasted me about 45 minutes lol. The way it hangs out of the front of your bag causes it to get caught on stuff. My regular pencil does too but it it drops on the ground I don’t care lol

It makes the wooden ones feel dumb . I am also hard on things but they are now my go too. But i agree with the others wooden is still way more efficient for framing
