There’s no leavening. That’s why it’s dense. Adding some yeast and letting it rise would help, or even just using some baking powder or something

some advice for the future with all ur baking stuff, always use self rising flour. for EVERYTHING. except for gravy. it will always turn out better

Self rising flour has the leavenings already added, that's usually what these 2 ingredient breads use. Without yeast, you need a chemical leavener. Adding some baking powder would work too
