@rnznewzealand: Acclaimed Australian photographer Ponch Hawkes has photographed five hundred naked women aged over 50, stripping off with them. While some braved it all, including showing their identity, some brought in objects and animals to cover their face. 500 Strong, the name of the exhibition, was part of a much larger show Flesh After Fifty, co-conceived by curator Jane Scott to address the "invisibility of older women and the gendered shame attached to ageing." #photography #art #nz #aging
