Im that parent. My in laws are so carelss and/ or naive and never check on the kids. Im the one that gets up and just opens the door, stares at them, smile and walk away saying “this door stays open”

Yup my 7yr stays in whatever room I’m in. Because this happened to me at his age by my 17yr old cousin and the family turned a blind eye.

On my family kids don’t get sent to rooms they stay around everyone else. And I like that about my family. If the kids go off someone will call them back to be around everybody

It was my older cousins, both male & female. I thought it was normal and couldn’t say no out of fear of rejection and getting hurt. I hope we’re able to break this cycle for generations to come🥺
