Replying to @Transmissiontechnician I used to state that the Techm needs to be replaced on every rebuild but here recently in the past months, I’ve seen a lot of discussion about whether to rebuild it or to replace it. I have found if I rebuild it and perform the solenoid cleaning test, I am having great success. If it needs a techm, it doesn’t take that long to drop the pan, remove the valvebody, and install a new one. Recently, I’ve seen a very reputable shop owner make a statement that if only one out of five needs a techm that the extra cost of the part can pay for the labor of the R&R technicians in the shop. I sat and thought about it, and realized how much money is actually being wasted by replacing the techm on every rebuild. i’ve also seen other shops starting to see problems with brand new and remanufactured techms.
