At the beginning of 2024 I set out with the goal of saying yes to as many opportunities as possible, and I think in the chaos of trying to do so much in such a short amount of time, I started to lose time for myself. As a result, it felt like I didn’t accomplish much this year, it felt like I didn’t progress as much as I’d hoped at the beginning of the year. As such, going into this 2024 recap, I really thought I wouldn’t have much to show. That is until I took the time to actually reflect and write out everything I shot, everything I participated in, everywhere I traveled to. And sure enough, as the list grew longer, my doubts about my own self worth as a creator quickly diminished. What stood out the most to me is that I did in fact succeed in saying yes to a crazy amount of opportunities, I just never posted about them. It’s as if the image I wanted people to perceive on social media became the reality in my head, even though it wasn’t the case. In actuality, I met so many incredible people and shared even greater memories with them. I picked up so many new editing techniques, and it has only further fueled my drive to learn even more. Work and passion continue to blend for me becoming ever more enjoyable and challenging. So I’ll continue to shoot, I’ll continue to tell stories, I’ll continue to adventure, and I’ll carry these new bonds I’ve formed into the next year and beyond.
