Don’t obsess over individual foods. There is a growing trend for shouty people in supermarkets to tell you WHICH FOODS YOU SHOULD NEVER EAT. But a lot of the time this actually makes no sense. Do you know why? Because it depends on the overall context of your diet. If you have a very nutritious diet, eating a slice of cake from time to time is not going to have a significant impact on your health at all. Just like we all know that if you have a very terrible diet, eating one nutritious meal isn’t going to suddenly give you super duper health status, right? In fact, you could argue that eating cake and enjoying it is very positive, given many people are petrified of eating a single slice of cake even on their birthday. Putting too much emphasis on foods you NEED TO AVOID can often be like shooting yourself in the foot. Because it can often be far too unrealistic, causing people to try to follow unnecessarily restrictive diet plans. So, if you are someone who has bounced between overly restrictive diets, it might be worth obsessing less about individual foods you eat in isolation, and shift your focus towards improving your overall dietary pattern, bit by bit. Because being consistently good always beats being occasionally perfect, you know? P.S. At the end of each post, I remind you that my best-selling book, ‘Everything Fat Loss’ is currently on sale as an audiobook, plus digital/print versions from Barnes and Noble, Apple, Kobo, Google, and Amazon with an extra 14% off in the US. Please feel free to grab it before the price goes up (Iink in profile). #food #foods #nutrition #health #nutritiontips #diet #fatloss #weightloss #flexiblediet #flexibledieting #iifym #Fitness #FitTok #gym #GymTok #personaltrainer #exercise #cleaneating #eatclean #calories #caloriecounting #caloriedeficit #foryou #fyp #fypage #fypシ゚
