What do I regret from my worst flight ever? Not the turbulence. Not the screaming baby. It was what I was wearing. At least I learned from my mistakes. So if you’re flying, here’s what to avoid… and the reasons you probably haven’t thought of 👇🏻 ❌ What not to wear on a plane: • Short shorts or skirts – A kid sat in my seat before me and left something wet. And sticky. Lesson learned. You do not want direct skin contact with airplane fabric. • Tight waistbands – seems so obvious but… 🤷‍♀️. Planes are uncomfortable enough. Don’t torture yourself even more. • High heels – Cute in theory. In practice? You’ll regret them when you land and your swollen feet won’t go back in them. Also: not great in an emergency. • Strong perfume – You’re in a tin can with strangers’ noses. Just don’t. • Offensive logos – Airlines can make you cover up or change. Why risk it? Save the edgy tee for after you land. • Open-toed shoes – Your feet will freeze. And trust me: airplane bathrooms are not a place you want exposed toes. • Complicated belts or buckles – Every bathroom trip becomes a wrestling match. And TSA is already slow enough. ✅ What to wear instead: • Loose joggers or stretchy jeans • A soft, breathable tee • A zip-up hoodie or half-zip fleece (layers are key - one minute you’re sweating, the next you’re freezing… who controls those temps??) • Supportive sneakers or slip-ons • A scarf or pashmina for warmth (and makeshift pillow) • A fanny pack or crossbody for essentials • Wax earplugs and a soft eye mask • Dark, neutral colors that hide spills and mystery stains ✈️ Want smart packing advice that actually works?
