They could just be roosting in the boxes if their height is close to the other roost. So those spikes may do nothing

You could move that top shelf and put it on the backside for support and also use it to secure it to the wall more if that doesn’t work 🤷🏼♂️

I built my nesting boxes like cubbies. chickens hang out to poop eggs then leave cause the ceiling is to low.

Cheaper alternative Take the top board off and slide it on the back. Leaves nothing to rooster on

They don’t poop in the bottom boxes right? That’s bc they are low move that row down and problem solved. My chickens have never pooped in there boxes

Have more over hang on the top so the chickens can’t poop down into it pretty much how they can’t poop into the bottom one from the top box 😄
