@doctorsood: Uneven patches of lighter or darker skin could be tinea versicolor, a common condition that tends to show up in warm, humid weather. Have you noticed anything like this on your skin? #TineaVersicolor #medical #health
Had it as a teen and used selsun blue shampoo to cure it ✌️

I’ve had this for going on 5 years now. I’ve tried all of the shampoos, soaps, anti fungal medicine/creams and everything else you can think of. It started around my shoulders and has spread all the way down my back, up one side of my neck and is now heading up the side of my face. It never fades and comes back it’s just there all the time. It turned pinkish and starts to itch when I’m outside for a while but then goes back to light brown. Is there a possibility it’s not tinea versicolor?

My husband has this & doctors always say it’s that fungal condition & to use anti dandruff shampoo. But it NEVER WORKS! 😖 It doesn’t even shrink at all

It doesn’t have to be tinea. I’ve had dark patches on my back drs mistaken them for tinea but biopsy said I had CARP. Confluent And Reticulated Papilomatosis

Used to suffer from this and tried a whole bunch things to get rid of it. Nothing really worked but then I used sulphur soap. Within two weeks it had gone.

Not always. I have this and it could never be treated by dermatologists - they just call it hypopigmentation and say good luck.

I have this and they gave me a shampoo to use but it seems to be spreading so I will try Selsun Blue since some of the comments are stating it worked for them

my child started with little bumps, they said there was nothing wrong. Now two weeks later she's got a couple patches of skin that are a lot lighter then the rest?

Can you talk about the blue spot many Indians people get on their bodies. My son had one as a baby and the doc said it was normal. It went away as he got bigger though.

my dad had something like that but it wasn’t tinea versicolor, it was his body’s sign of being at the stage before pre-diabetes (essentially at stage 1 if 2 was pre-diabetes and 3 was having diabetes) it went away after he stopped eating so much sugary foods
