Tile is the meat for the kitchen .. it’s a high traffic area and it’s the best to clean .. just my opinion

Drywall tip... instead of sanding, use a damp sponge to smooth it out. No dust!

To be honest this may turn out better than any contractor work because you’re doing your homework and you are fully invested in the process. Great work!!

Unpopular opinion here...I detest tile. I can't stand cleaning the grout. I refused to put it anywhere in my house. I have hardwood, lvp and laminate and I love it.

I'm from New Zealand and have been following you from the beginning. Cork in your kitchen for sure. Soft on the feet and warm ❤️❤️❤️

I did residential floors for a living, use ring shank nails. If you want it to last without issues that's your best bet.

I highly recommend LVP. Easy installation and very durable. It’s not nearly as heavy and doesn’t get cold like tile. Looks amazing as well.

I told my old house's kitchen. it was an old house too so I put it in the diagonal to disguise the walls not being symmetrical. I highly recommend epoxy grout. it's a miss of glass beads and resin....
