i disagree, i think a designer can definitely oversimplify things to the point of being unclear. a good design is functional yes, but functional =/= simple

I get the point but I don’t think every single design need simplicity. Simplicity is usually a good attribute but there are designs that need to communicate the opposite

i feel the simplicity movement in design is in a way the oppression of creativity and maximalist, futuristic approaches we used to see in the 2000s. we push design principles way too much even if it's not always intuitive and user-friendly
