Check yours now🤷‍♂️ Will you get this damp problem because your property has high external ground levels. If you have this eventually your walls will suffer from damp, mould, peeling paint and blown plaster. It’s crazy how some people miss the absolute basics, and can offer poor advice with expensive recommendations and rising damp issues continue to occur. High ground levels are a common issue, and can lead to a bridged damp proof course (dpc), or even rainwater splashing over the dpc, resulting in rising damp symptoms and saturated cold walls. Cold walls are also more prone to mould and condensation issues, so this will also help to eliminate this. If your property was built before a physical dpc was installed , this era of property is more likely to suffer with rising damp, and it is imperative you lower any high ground levels as this type of construction is completely reliant on evaporation at the base of the wall to try and control rising damp. Whilst rising damp is a common symptom I come across, unless you find the root cause this can be a persistent problem, and continued unsolved issues can become an expensive headache. As with any building related defect, my advice is to always pay for professional advice👍.
