Eggs are a little bit region specific. Right now a dozen costs me $7.99 for a dozen generic white and they’ve been at this price for a couple months. A year ago it was 2.29.

It’s completely sensical to say your eggs might be $6, but nationally they’re $3.50 for most people. Similarly, it’s fair to say that week to week the supply shifts a lot and prices spike ip and down.

I don’t care about the cost of eggs but, yes, at Aldi, there was a time that eggs were $1.29 or less. I only know because I specifically made a post about it and learned about bird flu.

I live in NYC (arguably one of the highest cost of living places in the US) and I pay maybe $3.50 for eggs. I’m also not convinced that people just don’t know how to grocery shop effectively

I worked at an organic food store for five years. Still shop there every week. The price of organic large omega 3 eggs spiked in 2020 and then settled again. They’re $3.50 a dozen

Does this person shop around? If I see eggs high at one store, I go to another. Vallarta supermarket charges $8 for an 18 carton. I go to Ralph's for a $3 12 carton.

Been grocery shopping in the Midwest for a family for 25 years. In the before times, a dozen eggs generally was $2-2.50. Store brand chocolate chips were also ~$2 (add $1 for name brand.)

I live in a city that is a tourist destination where food costs are higher. Walmart has Eggland’s best eggs are $3.42 a dozen.

I’m a fan, but I have to say: if you’re right, two videos ago seems off—you could get $1.50 eggs and $2.50 chocolate chips for $4 before 2020.

My teenage sons live on eggs. Was a point when they got expensive. I looked around and found that a local grocer was still offering affordable prices on local eggs.
