Integrity over everything….. unfortunately I will not be racing Atlantic City 70.3….. up until this morning I was still very hopeful that I would be able to race….. this past week my kiddos school closed due to COVID cases and then my son tested + over the weekend. Phoebe and I have been wearing masks throughout and had tested negative thus far. Unfortunately, Phoebe developed symptoms and tested positive. As I still did not have symptoms and was negative, I decided to distance myself from further exposure, still hoping to race Sunday if I remained negative, I left for Atlantic City…. I woke up this morning with fever and symptoms…. Now I have tested positive…. When I saw the positive test, of course 1000 things ran through my head. I am the most fit I have been, I have been hitting all of my times, cycling extremely well, hitting my strength numbers, and I could likely still perform on Sunday, and no one would have to know I tested positive….. I could race and just not let anyone know I was positive for Covid….. I could have done this…. But then I would could not say I raced with integrity…. It would not be fair to those whom I am racing against to expose them, knowing I have and am infectious with COVID….. I know some will disagree with me and say that I should have raced anyway… but at the end of the day that would be irresponsible for my health and the health of others….. the true test of the integrity of man is to do the right thing when no part of him wants to do it and no one is watching….. As much as I hate to say it…. I will not be racing AC. Everything happens for a reason! Although I am very disappointed I am extremely thankful that my family is healthy and doing well despite having COVID. There are so many worse situation‘s to be in and I am still very grateful. Lastly, I wanna thank everyone for your love and support especially @garminfitness @a2.bikes @outworknutritionofficial @calorify.health @eatfullerfood @holstrength @tyrsport Who have supported me along this journey. I hate to let anyone down but in the end, I believe this is the right thing to do. Plan —> contact Ironman and try to transfer to Waco, TX 70.3
