These videos have made me so afraid to adopt, but I wonder what is the alternative? Would they have rather been in foster care their whole lives, or with their bio family even if unfit? I just always wonder what would they have preferred now that they are adults and understand what life would have been like on both sides

I think this is more about not having a single choice over your circumstances and I feel for her I really do but majority of kids would rather be adopted than aging out of an orphanage.

alot of adopted children are happy by the overall choice ' maybe it's the few adoptive parents that lack what's needed ' for it to be successful?! in some way? I was in a sense adopted! separated

My wife was lucky, she was adopted by her grandparents, but being unwanted by her parents was still deeply damaging to her throughout her childhood.
