@hopemmurray: We are an ingredient household and spend $150 a week for our grocery budget for a family of 4. One thing we do is try not to waste food. We'll save things like ham bones to make soup with. We rarely eat out, but if we do, it come out of the grocery budget. Another way we avoid going over budget is using a cash system. Cash really helps hold us accountable rather than swiping a debit or credit card. #grocerybudget #ingredienthousehold #grocerybill #frugalliving #familyof4
I always go to self check out and I save at least $75.00

Just curious. Why do you use disposable utensils and bowls? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to use dishes instead of buying paper and plastic products? I cut them out a long time ago. Even for big gatherings.

I spend roughly $100 per week for three people and it’s not hard but yes you do have to cook, no convenience food

I spend $100 a week for a family of 5. 3 adults and 2 teens. Plan and never shop without knowing sale adds, a menu and a shopping list.

You can buy a ham bone at Honey Baked ham for about $9. It has lots of ham left on it, so I cut it off and use it for beans or greens

I hit the clearance sales all the time. Take it home and freeze it. Or Kroger sends amazing coupons.

I feel like budgeting should be a life skill taught in schools… but of course they took most of those classes away to promote consumerism and dependency

My favorite game to play is “Family! Guess how much this whoooolllle meal cost???”. Also, Dave Ramsey helped us build our 1st home in 2006-7. Cash system helps for sure. 💕
