I don’t remember them ever measuring for my ileostomy. It was an emergency surgery though my intestines perforated. Luckily I’m getting it reversed soon

The wound care nurse is the best for locating placement. They did an amazing job asking the questions for activity, belt, and such

In Canada , it’s a nurse specialized in ostomy that choose where it will be not the doctor. There the one to educated patient for after care to.

My stoma was directly on my pant line and just a little too close to my bellybutton so getting a good seal on my bag was always such a problem 🥲

They don't seem to do this for babies. We frequently have problems getting a good seal.

My son had one as a baby and it was right above where his diaper sat. Didn’t realize that was probably intentional.
