Thats INCORRECT! The truth is you only pay tax on it if you earn £1000 + on INTEREST EARNED whic requires savings of approx £20,000 at 5% interest

Its tax on interest ONLY. I was struggling for years even tho I worked 6 days 2 ofF, 12 hour shifts. I finally played my cards right, invested overseas and left the UK in 2015. Best decision EVER

Great news this. Loads of people who can’t save £10 a month anyone who has over 10,000 should pay tax at least no need to have that much and not pay tax on savings. This is good

You get to earn £1000 in interest before you pay tax. You can also put £20000 a year in an ISA tax free. There's plenty of options to avoid paying tax.
