I’ve kept mine home before because we were arguing and I did not want her to go to school sad.. we had breakfast tacos and I took her in late after we were cool. The guilt is not worth it!

my theory is that it feels particularly horrible to our generation bc it happened often to us, with absolutely no resolve. our severe discomfort ab it now, as parents, is a trauma response

My daughter and I did this the other day. I ended up going to her school and giving her a hug and saying I love you, I just didn’t like how I felt & I know she needed that.

And if they're upset with you, or you with them and you have nothing more to say, end it with I love you. You will never regret that. I wish I could tell my daughter how much I love her.

I always said to my kids, before they get out of the car after there was an argument, have a good day and we will talk when you get home and always say I love you no matter what.i hate that feeling!
