@rachonlife: “Dont you think you should give them a chance to know their grandparents?” No. Here’s why: 1) i dont want my parents passing on the same trauma they passed to me (because they have refused to take accountability/acknowledge any missteps) 2) what does it show my kids? That i can treat them however I want, cause them irreperable emotional damage (2025 is the year of EMDR im manifesting it!) and still get to have access to my grandkids? 3) my children are dependent on me for everything. how on earth can i depend on my parents to step into that role for them, when I can’t depend on them for anything else? #rachonlife #millennialmom #nocontact #narcsurvivor
I can never understand this logic. Your parents caused harm to you, you’re brave enough to set boundaries to protect yourself, and they think you should allow your kids to be harmed too? 🤔

I can’t stand this logic. My mom says I’m “hurting my son” like no I’m protecting him 👍

I adjust my boundaries if you give candy, they stay with you and I'm going home not coming back until 8am. I did this once and they never did it again unless they was staying with her.

I have unfortunately heard the same thing. “But maybe he will be a better grandparent than a parent..” 😵💫

Sometimes our parents are FAR better grandparents than they ever were parents. Not saying you’re wrong or right but just throwing that out there! There is hope. 💫

im LC with my MIL. my hubs had this logic until my son came home from a 2hr visit w/ a bathroom regression, saying she talked bad about us and she asked him to keep a secret. visits revoked.

forgiveness is bigger than you no one is a perfect parent and life is too short to play games there's a right way to do things and that is teaching your children so much more

REAL. Funniest when the parents themselves say “You’re hurting your kid. They deserve to know their grandparents.” LOL

I tried that w/bio mom and she literally just didn’t do anything. Didn’t contact them, send them cards, gifts, nothing. Changed my number & blocked her. Too many chances and I feel free.

This is why I will never understand states that have grandparents rights. I will go bat to hell if something ever happened and my mother was the default person to care for them. 1/2
