I worked at a Title 1 school as a Parent Coordinator. Responsible for 689 High School Kids... they cut the Position. Some ppl don't realize the impact this position has on the needs of those Students.

Just found out my title 1 school is being combined next year with a different campus. There’s only 1 option for my position. We don’t know which of the campus’ teachers get to stay or not. Ugh

oh they won't even have bussing to get there. parents will have to drive their child to those schools outside of their town... 😭

Before I left the profession, I taught at a Title I school. My kiddos got 2 free/reduced meals M-F & a bag of food to take home every weekend. These babies will go hungry.

This happened in Plano too. I used to work at a school with a deaf ed program, they had such a strong community. Small neighborhood school. They closed it, & now the kids & teachers will be separated.

People who think too much money is spent on frivolous things for schools, and for high salaries for administrators. May be true. But that isn't fixed by cutting funding. They just take aware resources and staffing and close schools.

From SATX & our inner city district closed 19 schools at the end of last year. The superintendent told parents look to the elected officials, thats who holds all the funds. And its so true

My mother as a teacher kept saying her students will have to be on a bus for 3 hrs a day to get to & from school if they close her school

They think those school vouchers will cover their child's education but it won't those schools run upwards of 12k a yr those vouchers cover a few thousand up to 5k you have to pay the remaining 5-8k

I live in the best school district in our area and we’re still obscenely short staffed and overcrowded. One of the many reasons we chose to homeschool was the class sizes of 40+ students.
