The building, completed in 1904, was designed by architect Ernst von Ihne in the Baroque Revival style, with its iconic dome and curved façade. Inside the museum, you’ll find an impressive equestrian statue of Frederick William, the Great Elector of Brandenburg. This bronze statue, created by Andreas Schlüter in 1703, originally stood outside Charlottenburg Palace but was moved here for preservation. The statue is a masterpiece of Baroque art, capturing the power and authority of Frederick William.
