Do the hospitals not remember giving these meds? And why are they even testing the mothers for drugs

Thank you! I’m a hospital social worker per diem and a full time CPS social worker and I can’t express how true this is! I read all birth records during the investigation before ever removing a child.

If a birthing mother doesn't have an open case with the state, how are hospitals allowed to test in the first place??

I can’t even fathom why hospitals are allowed to do any tests without consent from the patient. 😳

When I was just on Medicaid, I was tested every visit and so was my baby. But after I got married and had private insurance… suddenly I wasn’t considered “reasonable suspicion for drug use”

So by their own logic, would that not make them the said "drug sellers" in this scenario? They're the ones providing the illicit substances. So they should get a harsher sentence 🙃

It should be illegal to administer a drug test without someone’s knowledge. Pregnant women are often drug tested throughout pregnancy without their knowledge.
