Since when were two incomes not enough? Two parents working. Two incomes coming in. And still checking the bank balance before saying yes to things. Dinner out. A weekend away. Even a simple day trip. Because life adds up fast when you have a family. The mortgage. The food shop that somehow costs more every week. Childcare. Outgrowing of clothes. Petrol. Bills that appear out of nowhere. Sometimes you sit there wondering… How can two incomes still feel like it’s not quite enough? I remember having that exact conversation one evening as I planned to go back to work. Looking at the numbers again and again trying to make them stretch. Because the truth is, most families aren’t doing anything wrong. It’s just that life is expensive now. And when kids come along, everything shifts. Your time changes. Your priorities change. What matters most changes. For me, maternity leave really opened my eyes. I realised I didn’t want my only option to be going back to work full time and missing so much of my baby growing up… just to keep up with bills and childcare. So I started learning about ways to earn from home. Something flexible. Something that could actually fit around mum life. Nap times. Evenings on the sofa. Not a quick fix. Not a get-rich-quick thing. Just learning a different way to bring money in alongside family life. And honestly… I wish I’d discovered it sooner. If this resonates with you, comment LEARN and I’ll share what I started learning alongside mum life 🤍 #maternityleave #earnfromhome #mumlife #sahm #maternity
